Welcome to The Farm School!
We are a non-profit organization of multiple interweaving programs spread out over almost 400 acres of land in north central Massachusetts, linked together through our mission of connecting people to the land.
Our mission is to connect people to the land. We do this through our programs.
Our values are:
Land Stewardship
The climate change crisis has urged us to evaluate more profoundly our land use practices. We are committed to:
- Humane animal husbandry
- Crop selection and decisions informed by the community
- Careful attention to soil health, erosion mitigation and forest management
- Exploration of carbon sequestration
- Local energy production options
- Regenerative practices
Race & Equity Within Communities
As an organization, we are aware of the racism faced by communities of color. We are committed to the fight against racial and socioeconomic barriers.
Our pledge is to:
- Build and strengthen relationships.
- Develop a shared language and analysis of systemic oppression, power and privilege.
- Deepen a historical understanding as to how race and racism intersect with other forms of oppression.
- Practice together in real time the work of equity and liberation.
Diversity & Inclusion
At The Farm School we wholeheartedly embrace and celebrate diversity. We are committed to making diversity and active inclusion part of our community and organizational culture. We define active inclusion as conscious and substantial efforts by the administration to value, welcome, recruit, serve and empower people of all races and ethnic backgrounds, gender identities, sexual orientations, religions, ages, and all abilities within our organization, programs and support community. All are welcome and we strive to make this place accessible to all.
